Abstract :
Ocean features such as internal waves and eddies become visible on radar images because they are associated with a variable surface current which modulates the sea surface roughness and thus the backscattered radar power. This paper propose a new algorithm to detect typical ocean features namely the internal waves, the ocean fronts, the ocean eddies and the wind waves in the SAR images with two dimensional continuous wavelet. Experimental Results show that this method is very effective in the localization of various ocean features.
