Abstract
Integration and update of geospatial data are key issues in geographic information science. Map conflation can be used to eliminate inconsistency and merges multiple sources of datasets. Feature matching is the key technique in conflation process. Regarding areal features as whole entities, this research proposes a matching method considering relations among geometric positions and shape factors. A case study of Beijing, based on two cadastral maps at different times, demonstrates that the proposed method is effective to identify similarities and changes in cadastral maps and is feasible in cadastral map conflation.
