Abstract :
Sensors and sensor devices with diverse capabilities and complexities are major physical elements in a cyber-physical system. To model a cyber-physical system (CPS) we need sensor model beforehand. In one hand various sensor modeling techniques are available but at the other there is a conspicuous absence of a method to create a comprehensive description of a physical sensor to establish the correctness and validity of such CPS models. The major theme of this paper is to present a short comparison on sensor models and their score and rating against prevailing CPS modeling techniques so that application developers can select a particular method based on a uniform approach. Special emphasis has been given on interoperable sensor services under the purview of diverse sensor data (energy data) semantics in a Smart Metering use-case.
