Abstract :
The paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of traditional pipeline patrol inspection, and introduces the advantages of Google Earth. According to the advantages of GIS, GPS, GSM and Google Earth, after analyzing the feasibility of integrating them, the paper brings forward to developing pipeline patrol inspection system based on GIS, GPS, GSM and Google Earth. In the paper, we introduce the methodology to integrate GIS, GPS,GSM and Google Earth in detail, including the way to process the patrol inspection data obtained by GPS, the way to transform vector data to KML precisely and the way to display data on Google Earth client. At last, we develop a patrol inspection system based GIS, GPS, GSM and Google Earth to verify the methods above, in addition, we make a prospect for the application of pipeline patrol inspection system based on GIS, GPS, GSM and Google Earth.
