Abstract :
For the management of urban land resources and real estate development, periodic updating of information is crucial, particularly in some cities where exist serious problems of land resources shortage. However, collecting information related real estate development through full ground surveys would be very costly and time-consuming. On the basis of related technologies of Mobile Geographic Information System (GIS), this paper explores the use of a low-cost and rapid method of data collection to effectively manage the development of real estate projects and the use of land resources. A monitoring system which consisted of Mobile GIS client and GIS server is developed. A data acquisition system with Global Positioning System (GPS) module and a communication module are integrated into the mobile devices. Users access the services that run on a Personal Digital Assistant with wireless access facilities and GPS module. Finally, this monitoring system is tested on the Real Estate Management Information Center and its reliability and stability are verified.
