Abstract :
An expert system for multilayer routing that uses knowledge of electrical characteristics to produce a practical routing result is described. A rule-based planner makes strategy decisions and generates calls to an optimal mask-level single-net routing algorithm. Results are presented, and comparisons with grid-based algorithms are made
