Abstract :
The spectral domain approach for hybrid radiation modes (called E-HÃ) of a dielectric slot line is presented. It is shown that the spectral domain of E-HS modes consists of two parts describing the far-zone and the near-zone field behavior respectively. The orthogonality of radiation modes in the far-zone field is demonstrated. The construction of a E-HÃS mode from a combination of four partial diffracted fields, which are the solutions of spectral domain functional equations, is proposed. An illustrative example of the formulation for a selected partial diffracted field is presented. Numerical results are given for a simplified case where a predominant TE character of the partial diffracted field is assumed.
