The industrial restructuring after the economic crisis in Ulsan: focusing on the regional innovation system

Since the 1970s the city of Ulsan has experienced rapid economic growth as a result of the Heavy and Chemical industrialization policy by central government in Korea. However, the regional economy of Ulsan has encountered the limit of the existing growth system since the sudden economic downturn at the end of 1997. This paper suggests essential tasks to sustain regional development in the industrial restructuring in Ulsan in terms of regional innovation system.
