Abstract
This paper presents a design of a multiplierless decimation filter for a rational sampling rate conversion (SRC). The method is based on an FIR (finite impulse response) multiband filter design. Coefficients of the multiband filter are rounded to the nearest integers. The rounded filter is a multiplierless filter, since the integer coefficients can be realized with only shift-and-add operations. The cascade of rounded multiband filters is used to improve the overall magnitude characteristic. The resulting efficient structure is achieved using the polyphase decomposition.
