Abstract
A wideband tuning method for dielectric resonator stabilized VCO (DR VCO) has been developed. By this new method, a wideband tunable DR VCO with the mechanically tuning bandwidth ratio more than 8% has been realized in any of the 3 to 13 GHz bands. The obtained typical characteristics of the developed DR VCO is as follows: mechanically tuning band from 10.1 to 11.0 GHz, an output power of + 20 dBm ±l dB, and a modulation sensitivity variation of less than 3 dBp-p. DR VCO thus developed will sufficiently be applicable to various microwave radio communication systems.
