Abstract :
This research used digital image processing theory, reverse image recognition and processing technology to digitize cultural relic images. To achieve it, grey theory is employed to detect the edges of ancient relic images. With a self-developed Delphi program to carry out an automated reverse recognition system, we obtained the image outline data. The data was then exported as Bezier curves by using 3D CAD software, a Solidworks´ Application Programming Interface (API) technology. Case study examined in this research used an ancient bronze and jade relic from the National Palace Museum in Taiwan. Digitized outline data for these images were used to carry out totem designs. This process allows us to combine ancient relic images through the use of information technology, to assist the display of digitized designs for the digital cultural and creativity industry.
