Abstract
In order to locate emergencies and monitor the security of chemical laboratories and dangerous goods warehouse, an indoor safety detection device and a handheld terminal are developed by use of MSP430 MCU, temperature and humidity sensor, combustible gas sensor and smoke alarm. And a wireless sensor network (WSN) information management system is designed based on VC++6.0. The experiment results demonstrate that the safety detection device can accurately monitor the parameters, such as the temperature, humidity, combustible gas concentration and smoke status in chemical laboratories. The handheld terminal that is about 2~3km away from accident field can emit alarm and locate emergencies immediately, once a fire or gas leaking happens. The real time monitoring system proposed in this paper improves effectively the management in chemical laboratories and dangerous goods warehouse.
