Abstract
This short article was prepared to provide a very brief introduction to research activities in Japan in the field of computerised diagnosis using X-ray and CT images combined with picture processing and pattern understanding. After introducing 2 organizations of researchers in related fields, the author presents several examples of studies reported in domestic academic meetings and Japanese journals
