Abstract :
A novel method of virtual four-section with the field-circuit coupling finite element analysis is used to obtain the transposing positions in transformer winding design. The practical calculation confirms that there are obvious differences between positive- and contrary-direction transposition of a double helical winding. It is pointed out that the contrary-direction transposition has notable advantage when the low-voltage winding of a three-winding transformer is a double helical winding
