Abstract
The theoretical study of an asymmetrical iris, inserted in a circular waveguide, is accomplished by means of two different techniques: mode matching and integral equation. Both methods allow the computation of the Generalized Scattering Matrix of the discontinuity. Comparison between the two techniques are presented. Transmission and reflection properties of a single iris are computed and validated with experimental results. An improvement on the bandwidth performance (10%) is obtained disposing more irises in a cascade configuration.
