Abstract
This paper introduces the design fundamental of a new type controllable reactor called the magnetically controlled reactor. An essential part of the design of a reactor, the determination of the steel cross section of the core, the conductor cross-section area and windings turns, is described. Based on the method, a prototype of a single phase 6.6 kVA reactor was designed
