Abstract
A simulated closed loop drug delivery system is developed and tested for its ability to maintain cardiac output at setpoint range for congestive heart patient model by adjusting the infusion of the inotropic PDE III inhibitor milrinone. The performance of the cascade controlling mechanism is robust in maintaining the physiological response at the desire setpoint range by the infusion of the drug. Results lead to the possibility of developing a clinical closed loop control system for congestive heart failure patients under milrinone administration
