Abstract :
Image sequence processing is a growing field in image processing and computer vision applications. One area of image sequence processing is motion estimation. There are several types of motion that need to be determined, one type is 3-D motion for which many algorithms have been developed. Several of these algorithms have been based on integrating 2-D slices into a volume. However, lately there have been new technological advances applied to acquire 3-D volume data. This paper presents algorithms for estimating 3-D motion of a non-rigid body. The methods used are the block-shift method and the linear systems of equations. These algorithms were chosen because of their familiarity in the imaging processing field. The goal of this research is to gain knowledge in understanding 3-D motion. Also included is a comparative analysis to measure the effectiveness of these algorithms
