Abstract
The leakage magnetic fields and the stray losses in a power transformer are analyzed base on three dimension finite element method, this electromagnetic model established can give the correct winding losses; the stray losses in tank wall are studied when magnetic shunts are used or not used beside the tank wall, the simulated stray losses are in accordance with the measured, which implies the model used in the paper is correct. By the proper use of magnetic shunts, stray losses in tank wall can be reduced effectively.
