Abstract :
This paper presents a quantitative method for mineral exploration combining of the three multi-class geological variables aided by GIS spatial analysis techniques and statistical analysis. The process of constructing a mineral potential map based on extended weights-of-evidence modeling to investigate the relationship between multi-class evidential map patterns and known gold deposits in the Wulonggou gold district of Qinghai Province. Finally, the study area was classified into three target zones of high potential areas, moderate potential areas and low potential areas based on the sum of weights that avoid the affect of conditional independence. The high potential areas occupy 2.6% of the total area and contain 76.5% of the known deposits, reaching a better prediction rate.
