Abstract :
This paper analyzes the performance of a null-steering scheme for highly correlated receive antennas in the presence of statistically unordered co-channel interferers over multipath fading channels. An adaptive activation of receive antennas according to the interfering signals fading conditions is considered in the analysis. Analytical expressions for various system performance measures, including the outage probability, average error probability of different signaling schemes, and raw moments of the combined signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) are obtained in exact forms. Numerical and simulation results for the performance-complexity tradeoff of this scheme is presented and then compared with that of full-size arbitrary interference cancelation and no cancelation scenarios.
