Abstract
Rectangular waveform permanent magnet propulsion motor controlled by a PWM chopper is studied. The impact of low frequency chopping on armature current is analyzed by means of Fourier transformation. The conclusion is that low frequency chopping will result in the fluctuation of motor electromagnetic torque, which is proven by simulation and experiment
