Abstract :
The minimum mean square output error (MSOE) associated with IIR (infinite impulse response) lattice structure is analyzed. It is shown that, contrary to parallel and cascade realizations, saddle manifolds are not found by mapping the direct form parameter space onto that of the lattice. This property and some hidden characteristics of the lattice form are identified by manipulation of the Jacobian of that transformation
