Abstract
Pointed in this paper are the basic primary and secondary sources, reflecting A. S. Popov´s activity on the Black Sea Fleet and in Sevastopol in 1899-1903. Presented are the fragments of the secondary sources - newspapers and letters of this period, as well as chronicles of his life and activity. Described are the facts pointing that in the beginning of practical implementation of radio communication in Russia the Black Sea Fleet was the basic testing site ant the basic subject for introducing wireless telegraph equipment.
