Abstract :
A high-speed on-board data bus system for controlling the communications subsystem has been developed. The system, named CSC (Communications subsystems Supervisory and Control equipment) has the following functions: (1) transmitting command signals, (2) gathering telemetry data, and (3) transmitting and monitoring IF-switch switching data. In order to decrease weight, size, and power consumption of the CSC components, LSI (large-scale integration) implementations have been studied. Four LSIs have been developed by a qualitative and quantitative design process which includes optimal division of the functions of each CSC component. The design philosophy, configuration, and functions of the LSIs are discussed.<>
