  • Abstract
    This paper introduces the use of integrated Wind Power Plant and HVdc link control for the connection of off-shore wind farms to multi-terminal HVdc links. Connection to both multi-terminal VSC-HVdc and to LCC-HVdc links is considered. WPP connection using a diode rectifier station for the aforementioned scenarios is validated by means of detailed PSCAD simulations, including the HVdc links and a distributed model of the WPP. Additionally, a loss study of the WPP diode rectifier station is included for realistic wind conditions in order to evaluate the total converter losses for the proposed solution.
