Abstract :
Lidar is an acronym of Light Detection and Ranging. It is also called as “laser radar”. Lidar remote sensing is a complicated procedure with many factors involved (both human-controllable and non-controllable). It is difficult to imagine what happens from a simple lidar theory. Using the MATLAB platform, lidar data architecture is decoded, raw signal is retrieved and later subjected to signal analysis. The determination of upper and lower boundaries of a cloud turns out to be a crucial task for meteorological needs. The lidar is the only technique that can profile the cloud base and cloud top accurately than any other remote sensing technique. The present work is done on the determination of cloud base and cloud top using unique LAMP system developed at NARL.
