Abstract :
Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) is a most promising and widely accepted and well proved hybrid routing protocol in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) for its performance when compared with table-driven and on-demand protocols. In this paper an Evolutionary Zone Routing Protocol is proposed which is an extension of Zone Routing Protocol. The work does not make any changes to the inner zone part in ZRP. However, evolutionary algorithm has been applied to the outer zone. It provides a set of available paths to the destination in order to improve the performance of the network.
