Abstract
This paper researches the use of fibre materials to make insulation ropes for live-line work, the tensile strength of this improved rope (using new weave technology) is increased by 25% compared to that of the old type of rope. The new type of rope has the advantage of smooth surface and the weave technology in not complicated. This paper discusses the advances in new insulating rope technology in China which are of great interest to US electric utilities
