Abstract :
This article discusses the modeling and control wind energy conversion system WECS, equipped by a double fed asynchronous generator, which use the topology that stator is connected direct to the grid while the rotor is connected to grid through a back-to-back converter. The control strategy is applied to control active and reactive powers of the rotor side converter RSC with linear PI controller. A grid side converter GSC allows controlling a DC link voltage, guarantee sinusoidal grid current and a unit power factor on the grid. Simulation results are evaluated in terms of power followed tracking and sensitivity to disturbance caused by sudden change in wind speed, by using the dedicated MATLAB-PSB (Power System Blockset) toolbox implementations.
