Abstract
This paper presents the results of studies on the arc-proofness of insulating booms of aerial platforms for live line works. The data obtained with 5-20 kA power arcs applied for 1.5-0.1 sec, show acceptable arc-proofness of tested insulating boom samples and full-scale models as well as their ability to withstand nominal voltage or even switching overvoltages after such an arc, if autoreclosing occurs during live line work. The obtained results make possible further improvements of existing telescopic platforms
