Title :
Live-working techniques on 220 kV long-span towers
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
This paper outlines integrated live-working techniques, designed by Harbin Power Bureau, to solve the problem of operating on 220 kV long-span towers. It also describes replacement methods for a whole string of suspension insulators and a whole string of tension insulators on on a live line, an oiling method for the release clips (suspension type) of conductors, an examination method for conductors and their accessories (including damping wire and its release clip, dampers), and a method of eliminating the detected defects on a live line. Also, this paper introduces a new self-made stretchable cable method using buckets and clamps, presents the design basis of such clamps and effective ways of testing clamps easily
