  • Abstract
    Research and development (R&D) strength is very important for region and nation sustainable development. This paper makes a comprehensive evaluation of 21 regions in Guangdong province through factor analysis and cluster analysis, we found that R&D strengths of Shenzhen and Guangzhou are in leading positions, but imbalanced in human and financial resources, technology transfer and diffusion, Shenzhen has absolute superiority in input of human and financial resources and output of innovation, while Guangzhou pay more attention to purchase and introduction of technology; Foshan and Dongguan are in the third and fourth places respectively, and they keep balance in all aspects, which are backbones for Guangdong R&D strength promotion.
