Abstract :
We developed four L-band Dielectric Resonator Oscillators (DRO) and a wide-band tunable YIG Oscillator (5 to 6 GHz), each phase-locked to VHF reference frequencies by means of a Sampling-Phase Detector (SPD), obtaining small size devices with good frequency stability and noise performances. A SPD configuration with a single GaAs FET was used, which allowed us to obtain sensitivities greater than 0.5 Vpp. We also tackled the problem of DC-offset compensation with suitable technical solutions.
