Abstract :
The method of projections onto convex sets (POCS), also known as the method of convex projections, is a powerful image restoration/reconstruction algorithm that uses prior information as well as current data. The author discusses the method and shows some applications. It is concluded that the great value in recognizing that an algorithm is of the convex projection type is that one can make definite statements regarding its convergence as well as using prior information in a consistent fashion
