Abstract
Current OSSs suffer from an inability to integrate diverse types of management information. This paper presents a novel approach for solving this problem using autonomic computing principles. This approach uses a common information model (DEN-ng), extending its framework with ontology-directed harmonization of knowledge using semantic equivalence. In addition, life cycle issues of components as well as management data are addressed
