Abstract :
CO2, CH4, H2S, NH3 and other gases are generated in sewer by anaerobic microbial degradation. The corrosion of sewer gases is not only facilities but also easily cause an explosion or poisoning resulting casualties, seriously affects people´s daily life and health. In this paper, the city sewer wastewater by simulating the anaerobic degradation process was researched. And the effects of temperature and pH on the anaerobic degradation of sewage were researched. The results suggest that different temperature conditions on the sewer discharge sewage gas production have an important influence in the wastewater sewer. The pH affects the generation of methane and sulfide, because pH can inhibit the activity of methanogenic bacteria, and increases pH can reduce the liquid to gas conversion of H2S.
