Abstract :
During the Underground Construction, the ground surface and the building near the construction site would be impacted and the deformation would occur. The empirical deformation forecast methods, as the simple, useful, and more efficient deformation prediction methods, are widely used in Engineering Investigation. We develop the Underground Construction Deformation Display System (UCDDS) basing on the 3D Engineering Investigation Information System (EIIS). In the system, practical empirical methods are used to forecast the deformation. Traditionally, the empirical methods show the deformation on cross sections in 2D (two-dimensions). Here, we developed the practical empirical methods to 3D (three-dimension), and display the deformation results of strata and buildings in a 3D scene, which would enable the user to understand the deformation caused by a specific underground construction more easily. The deformation result is shown in two type of body model, TIN and GRID. Through practical test, the system proved to be efficient during the engineering investigation.
