Abstract :
With the advancement of remote sensing monitoring techniques in the global space, Discrete Global Grid System (DGGS) provides new ideas for the constructing of new spatial data models. Based on the frame of DGGS, in this paper, HQBS, an innovative encoding and a new high effective hierarchical structure for Spherical Discrete Hexagonal Grid, was discussed. HQBS can be used to spheres, demands no parity layers, uses quadtree to code, has the smaller size lookup table, and greatly improves the efficiency of grid index and analysis. The paper also studies a series of problems about the establishment of hexagonal hierarchical grid structure, encoding of HQBS units, ⊕ operation of HQBS, and hierarchical index of HQBS. In the end we prove exactness and efficiency of the algorithm through the experiments.
