Abstract :
Several coding techniques have been analyzed earlier to improve the performance of the OCDMA system. In this paper the bit error rate of the OCDMA system as a function of modified prime sequence code and number of simultaneous users has been discussed. This paper also examines some of the possible improvements to the system performance that could be realized by combining the OCDMA format with orthogonal codes for OOK and PPM signaling schemes. The bit error probability reduces for a given number of simultaneous users as the prime sequence P increases. The use of longer sequence lengths and code weights make the performance slightly better in both OOK and PPM format.
