Abstract
A "dry" or "technical" subject can be made exciting to a nontechnical audience by avoiding some common mistakes in preparation: (1) a weak start with a noncommittal "pseudo-message"; (2) overuse of abstract ideas without exemplification; and (3) visuals that just list facts or numbers instead of bringing them to life by symbolic means. Having exciting material will also greatly improved your delivery, because it naturally invites enthusiasm and confidence
