Abstract
Dispersion devices are needed in many communication and radio frequency systems for dispersion compensation, optical beamforming in phased array antennas, microwave and millimeter wave generation, transversal microwave filters and time-domain optical processing. Variable devices with a time response lower than 1 ms are of great interest to achieve dynamic dispersion compensation and reconfigurable systems. Here, different approaches are presented, all based on fibre Bragg gratings.
