Author_Institution :
Martin Marietta Government Electron. Syst., Moorestown, NJ, USA
Abstract :
The author examines the concept of the nontechnical audience. How can that audience be defined? What is the relationship of that audience to the information that is being delivered by such technical means as hypertext and videodisc? Why are we interested in this audience, if it even exists anymore? The author explores: 1) the modern definition of a nontechnical audience; 2) if that audience truly exists in today´s environment; and 3) what the merging of technical and nontechnical fields makes possible in terms of communication for the future
