Abstract :
The photocatalytic degradation behaviors of butylxanthate in Bi2O3 suspension under visible light were studied in this paper. Some influencing factors of degradation such as the addition of Bi2O3, pH value of wastewater, reaction time and butylxanthate concentration were investigated under visible light(λ>;400 nm)irradiation. When the concentration of the aqueous of butylxanthate was 50 mg/L at the natural pH=7.0, the dosage of Bi2O3 was 1.67 g/L, and the degradation rate was 98.32% after 180 min. Kinetic researches indicated that the process of butylxanthate followed the first order kinetics model. UV wavelength scan was carried out in the process of photocatalytic degradation of butylxanthate and results showed that the technique had its merit of decomposing products sufficiently without secondary pollution.
