Abstract :
This paper deals with an application of fuzzy logic to the monitoring and control of a pilot scale (120 liters) anaerobic digestion fluidized bed reactor for the treatment of industrial wine distillery vinasses. Available data (i.e., pH, temperature and input liquid flow rate) are used to manage the output gas flow rate and to keep the process in steady state conditions. External disturbances were applied to the reactor in order to rest and validate this fuzzy controller. Good results were obtained on the real process and demonstrated the interest of this methodology to optimize the wastewater treatment
