Abstract :
The author describes how one American corporation (International Business Machines Corp.) took a group of its employees from varying and diverse backgrounds and re-educated them to become computer programmers. The generalities of the program are discussed. These include how the program was administered, what was the length of the program, and what were the restrictions of the program. The specific educational plan that each student was expected to undergo is reported. The bulk of the courses were computer science courses and each course is briefly described
