Abstract :
Through realizing the actuality of three-dimensional Geo-information system (3D GIS) based on Internet, and focusing on the problems of inadequate reality of 3D visualization and lacking of spatial analysis and so on, the authors researched a number of key technologies about Web 3D visualization based on MAPGIS-TDE platform by adopting Microsoft ActiveX control. The paper proposes a solution to achieve the real-time visualization of 3D fine models, the integrative display of 2D vector map and 3D terrain model, and implements some spatial analysis of 3D characteristics based on Internet. The paper also gives a proto-type instance of Web 3D GIS system based on this research.
