Abstract :
A novel Ca-based sorbent was developed to removal SO2 and NO from flue gas simultaneously. CaO and the fly ash with a mass ratio of 1:4 were hydrated at ambient temperature to make the basic sorbent. NaClO2 and KMnO4 were used as oxidants adding to the basic sorbent to enhance the sorbent ability for SO2/NO capture. The effects of influencing factors on the SO2/NO capturing capacity of the Ca-based sorbent were investigated in a fixed-bed reactor at low temperature. High mass percent of additives and water content made SO2/NO capture increase significantly while temperature rise resulted in SO2/NO capture decreasing.
