Abstract :
Accessible Web design is not very complicated to accomplish, but several aspects have to be considered. By using an example page, the process of transforming a not accessible page into an accessible one is demonstrated. This includes the evaluation of the current Web site and several steps of redesign like the overall design, textual equivalents, style sheets, language, hyperlinks, as well as obsolete, revised, and new elements. We also show some problems in this field, often caused by browsers not compliant with current standards. In addition to the sample page, we show the influences of accessible Web design on two projects, the eGovernment Intelligent Portal and a redesign of our institute´s Web site.
