Abstract :
Within the field of technical communication, a prominent specialization is in the area of computers. As recent graduates from technical communications programs, the authors found that their experiences as technical writers in the computer industry varied from that of their education and internships. They surveyed graduates from various technical communications programs who graduated within the last five years and who work in the Silicon Valley. It was found that there were key areas in which their education and internship experience varied from that of their first job
